VOLUNTEER DESCRIPTIONS

Positions are either first or second half of meet, unless noted.


Food Stand (4 to 5 people per half) – Helps to setup food stand, sell food, and helps tear down after meets. Relief is provided so parents can watch swimmer’s events. (Home meets only)   

Line-Up Coordinator (3 people per half) - Helps direct the swimmers to the starting blocks for their events.  Relief is provided so parents may watch swimmer’s events. 

Runners (2 people per half) - After each event is over, a runner gathers lane sheets and delivers to scorer table. 

Back-Up Timer - Back-up timer for all lanes. On-deck. 

Timers (6 people per half) - Using hand held stopwatch and/or plunger and recording times/swimmers name on lane tablets for swimmer in each lane.  On-deck. 

Ribbon Table - This job consists of peeling a label and filing ribbons in ribbon box.  Seated position, on deck, usually begins around event 20 and 2nd half may work after meet is over. 

Stroke and Turn Judge - Person who judges and makes call on correct use of strokes and proper turns. Disqualifies swimmer if needed.  Must be PIAA, NCIA, USA or CPAL Certified for winter season.  Training available.  On-deck.

Finish Judge - Person responsible to record the race finishes in order by lanes. On-deck.
